Amongst forward-thinking healthcare providers, low-dose naltrexone (LDN) is gaining a lot of momentum as a safe and inexpensive compounded prescription medication. LDN can be used to treat a wide variety of autoimmune conditions, chronic pain, thyroid disorders, cancers, and much more. On October 28th, 2020, NutriChem Compounding Pharmacy and the LDN Research Trust will present the virtual event, “LDN: The New Frontier in Managing Autoimmunity.” During this unique virtual presentation, a variety of medical professionals, including medical doctors, naturopathic doctors, pharmacists, and nurse-practitioners, will meet to discuss low-dose naltrexone, its benefits, safety profile, mechanism of action, and patient access. Bio: Kent MacLeod, RPh., BSc.Phm., is a pharmacist, as well as the founder and CEO of NutriChem Compounding Pharmacy & Clinic in Ottawa, Ontario. He is an international thought leader and award-winning pharmacist, with over 35 years of clinical experience delivering patient-centered healthcare. He is globally recognized as a hormone health and nutrition expert, has lectured at many health conferences, published research, and developed course materials for many professional clinics based on NutriChem’s success. He is the author of the book, “Biology of the Brain: How your gut microbiome affects your brain,” and his focus is on the relationship of the gut microbiome to mental health and immune function.

Bio: Linda is Multiple Sclerosis patient, founder and volunteer CEO of the LDN Research Trust. She has made it her life’s work to help and support people with autoimmune diseases, cancers, mental health issues etc. Her goal is that LDN will be used as a first-line treatment, where appropriate, globally. In the last 16+ years, she’s achieved a lot. 


Linda has organised 7 Conferences, numerous talks, and she has edited both of The LDN Books. Linda is the LDN Radio Show Host, has planned 6 Documentaries and the 15th Anniversary eBook. She also oversees the day-to-day running of the charity along with other volunteers.

Bio: Dr. Junek practices as an integrative and functional medicine physician at the Ottawa Integrative Cancer Centre.  She frequently incorporates interventions such as nutrition, herbals, supplements, manual and mind-body medicine to complement conventional medical therapies.  She also offers patients an opportunity to dig deeper into the root cause of their symptoms through functional medicine's approach to health and wellness.

Bio: Kim Rovers is a nurse practitioner and the owner of Live Well Health Clinic. Having a profound interest in functional and integrative medicine, Kim pursued further education with A4M and completed her Certification with the American Board of Anti-Aging for Health Professionals. Her educational journey didn’t end there. She has also completed the FAAMFM – Fellowship in Anti-Aging, Metabolic and Functional Medicine.

Bio: Adam is a compounding pharmacist that works extensively with bio-identical hormones, thyroid compounds, low-dose naltrexone, and customized pain creams. He is also a clinical pharmacist with NutriChem Biomedical Clinic, where he has helped many patients navigate the complex Canadian Medical Cannabis system. He understands the intricacies of cannabis therapeutics, including forms, ratios, dosages, and interactions with other medications.  
 
As a clinical pharmacist focusing on medication deprescribing and medical cannabis, Adam believes that prescription drugs can be a useful tool in a healthcare provider’s toolbox. However, for many chronic conditions, they simply aren’t that effective, and can be quite unsafe and difficult to discontinue.  Adam helps to guide appropriate patients away from harmful drugs such as proton pump inhibitors, benzodiazepines, opioids, and sleeping pills through NutriChem’s Deprescribing Program.

Bio: Dr. Yousuf offers a non-judgemental and compassionate approach to resolve complex imbalances in the body.  Initially trained in architectural science, Dr. Yousuf has spent the last 20 years studying traditional medicine.
 
He believes that the foundation of health is digestion. Healing the microbiome, addressing SIBO, eliminating parasites, and improving nutritional absorption can have a cascade effect towards restoring health.
