What are realistic expectations with Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN)?

Expectations need to be set ahead of time when someone is first starting Low Dose Naltrexone. Some people find results very quickly, literally within days. They feel so much better. They've got energy. Their pain is reduced by 50, maybe even 75 percent. Is it 100 percent gone? Not usually. If that's the expectation, then we need to talk about some other things as well. But usually, symptoms are really well controlled.

But other people, it could take four months, six months, a year. A lot of times, people just don't have the patience for it because a lot of times, by the time they've gotten to find Low Dose Naltrexone and find a provider that will write that prescription, they've literally been suffering for years, if not decades. And they've gone through a laundry list of drugs and a long list of providers as well. And sometimes the providers literally look at them and say, I just don't know how to help you anymore. I just don't know what to do. And that's very defeating. It never feels good. And then you move on.

But sometimes it takes another, what, few months, few years to find someone else.

So that's why the research trust has put together a long list of not only pharmacies, but providers that are well -versed in the use of Low Dose Naltrexone so that usually people can get to a happy spot a little bit quicker.

But again, it's all about expectations and understanding that it could take time. But after all, how long has it taken for you to get here today? Years, decades, a long time.
