L-theanine is an amino acid found in tea. It is a relaxing agent that is known to relieve stress and anxiety. These effects can also be felt in people with psychological disorders, including bipolar disorder. Some people even claim to experience improved concentration.
Some preliminary research suggests that low dose naltrexone (LDN) may help reduce mood episodes. Some research also supports naltrexone as a treatment for bipolar disorder LDN may improve bipolar disorder symptoms because it boosts endorphin levels. Evidence from one small 2017 study also supports the benefits of LDN for major depression as well.
