Can Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) Cause an Outbreak in Herpes?

A person said I have a patient who saw an increase in herpes outbreaks while on 4.5 milligrams of LDN. I have not seen that happen with patients. Nobody came back and told me about it. Sometimes, being the pharmacist, we don't exactly hear all the feedback. We try hard to document feedback when we do hear it and sometimes we've had student projects that call patients and get feedback.

I would think it would be the opposite that stress or a vaccine would cause herpes outbreaks because it's making a receptor or cell mad and causing it to release a lot of mediators and LDN is thought to work as cooling that receptor and helping modulate it.
