Can Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) cause Serotonin Syndrome?
The problem is other drugs people are taking, something about this person going to E.R. with Serotonin Syndrome. I've never seen Serotonin with LDN. It's not one of the recognized medications for causing Serotonin Syndrome.
Could it happen? I mean, anything's possible. You're treating enough patients and you see all sorts of reactions. If Serotonin was truly from initiating LDN, I would put that in like one of their very, very rare adverse reactions to it.
It's not common at all. In fact, a lot of patients that I treat are on SSRIs, SNRIs, you know, Wellbutrin, et cetera. They tend to do just fine on LDN at all the dose ranges. At all of the dose ranges.
