Can Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) stop additional auto-immune conditions?
I just started LDN three months ago for Lupus, Scleroderma, Sjogren’s and Thyroid autoimmune conditions. The doctor said that she hopes LDN will stop further autoimmune conditions or issues. Is that true?
It certainly is possible that all autoimmune conditions are from a dis-functioning immune system. Because LDN does seem to improve the immune function in people with autoimmune diseases, often you're treating one condition and other ones are improved as well.
I'd say it is possible. It's very, very optimistic for the doctors to have said that to you. It is entirely possible that you'll get a benefit in multiple conditions and stop the development of other autoimmune conditions because you are having this dampening effect on the immune system globally.
