Can You Drink Alcohol When Taking Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN)?
Is moderate drinking possible with Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN)?
I tell patients that it should be fine to drink with Low Dose Naltrexone. I have seen a lot of answers and people on forums and patients that are sometimes a little bit more sensitive with alcohol. If somebody asks me this question, I always tell them that the first time they drink when being on Low Dose Naltrexone, don't go crazy, don't go binge drinking, make sure you're with a safe group of people, and make sure that you have a driver just in case you would get a reaction to it. But generally it shouldn't happen.
What I have learned with being in compounding pharmacy, the textbooks will say one thing and pharmacokinetics will say one thing, but a patient's body will always say another. So, be careful with the first time they do it.
