David Zava shares his presentation on Steroid and Peptide Hormones at The LDN 2017 Conference.
David talks about the different types of bodily fluids used for testing hormones, which include plasma, urine, saliva and capillary blood.
The topic of how steroid hormones are also scientifically broken down by David, who states that steroid hormones are released from binding proteins in the bloodstream and passively diffuse into tissues and accumulate in the saliva.
The pros of Dried Capillary Blood/ Dried Blood Spot (DBS) are weighed up against the cons of the Venipuncture Serum collection system. For instance, DBS is minimally invasive testing whereas the latter is invasive and is time consuming.
