According to the AARDA, "Interstitial cystitis (IC) is an autoimmune-related condition that causes discomfort or pain in the bladder and a need to urinate frequently and urgently. It is far more common in women than in men".  Basically, a person's immune system attacks the lining of the bladder and makes it seem like the person has a urinary tract infection.  Patients with IC often go years without being properly diagnosed.

In shorts, yes LDN can be helpful with IC.  But like any chronic or complex condition, LDN is a tool - and you cannot fix anything with just one tool.  Patients do much better with a holistic approach.  And even though it helps a majority of the patients who try LDN, it may not help everybody.  Every patient needs to consult with a physician or prescriber to decide if LDN is appropriate for them.

45yo female with multiple issues including IC, I started her on LDN in 2018 then she had some family issues and was lost to follow-up, but then returned 2yrs later and wanted to go back on LDN because it was helping her so much.

59yo female who had been on 3mg LDN from another provider with good results for her IC, then I bumped it up to 4.5mg and did even better.

41yo female with multiple medical issues, including IC, who took 4.5mg of LDN and reported: "My interstitial cystitis is gone! I have no urination issues at all anymore!"

18yo female who found that since being on 3mg/d of LDN "has not had an IC flare since starting LDN - also has relieved depression relating to health issues."

I did a search of my charts over the last few years and found the following cases:

I was not able to find any studies specifically on IC and LDN, however, LDN seems to help with pretty much anything to do with the dysfunction of the immune system, including autoimmune conditions.
