Galyn Forster, MS, LPC - Veterans with PTSD - 3 Case Studies (2017 Conference) (LDN, low dose naltrexone)

Galyn’s mission in giving this talk is not just to introduce you to a novel re-purposing of this old drug, naltrexone, it is about giving men and women with PTSD, who have given up on themselves and the medical treatment community, reason for hope.

Galyn has extensive experience using Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) as an adjunctive treatment for PTSD in over 40 cases. Her experience using LDN with veterans is less extensive than with the general population but in the cases she has worked with the results have been impressive.

Galyn discusses the cases of three soldiers suffering from PTSD and then concludes that LDN helps individuals better tolerate their own emotional reactivity. In essence, the default setting is no longer constantly stuck at threat mode and when there is no threat or reason to feel threatened the individual rediscovers relaxation and a feeling of safety.
