Ginevra Liptan, MD - Alternative Strategies for Fibromyalgia Pain (2017 Conference) (LDN, low dose naltrexone)
Discussion of fibromyalgia (FM), and the neurologic basis of the pain. LDN lessens brain sensitivity to pain and reduces neuroinflammation in the brain. Several FM cases who found relief with LDN. Opioids limit the ability to prescribe LDN because in higher doses it is an opiate blocker. Around 0.3 mg to 0.35 mg naltrexone seems best tolerated in patients on opioids, spaced about 6 hours after the last opioid dose; along with less opiates, and less side effects.
