How to Restart Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) after Pausing it

This is a follow-up to the question about tolerance. If you go off of it for a while, as you suggested, how long would you wait before restarting, and what dose would you restart at?   I think you could do a couple of different ways here. Some patients like drug holidays, where they might go off of it for a week and then go back on it. Remember, the half-life's only about four to six hours, so it's technically kind of out of your system already. But I do see this happen. If you do want to do a drug holiday,  it depends. I would say three to seven days is probably enough for you.  I don't have any research. I just get what patients normally do, and many of them usually like a week's drug holiday, as they would call it. When you restart, if you're off for a short period of time, some patients can just restart back at what their normal consistent dosing always was.  Some patients, if they were off of it for, let's say a month, might need to do a little bit of a taper just in case they have any sleep disturbances or maybe a headache. It really depends on the patient. If you define yourself as being more chemically sensitive, I would say probably do a little bit of a taper backup to get back on your dose.
