Is it Helpful to Increase Your Dose of Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) During an ME or Fibromyalgia Flare?

Is it beneficial to increase the LDN dose temporarily during an ME or Fibromyalgia flare?  Maybe.

First you should consider what caused the flare.  Was it a stressor and Is that stressor gone?  Sometimes when there's a flare and somebody's taking LDN once a day we might actually reduce the dose and spread it out and have them do it twice a day.  That way it gives them a balance throughout the day. Again, it really depends on the individual and how well your compounding pharmacist knows your provider and what the flexibility is for that.  I wouldn't cut your dose and do it twice a day without talking to your compounding pharmacist and your provider, as well.  Just because sometimes with autoimmune if we start playing around with two or three, four times a day we lose the benefits of the once daily dosing. We don't want to mess with something, we want to actually try to fix it.  Again, if it's only temporary you can always try it.  If it doesn’t work than go back to once a day dosing.
