Jill Cottel, MD - Vitamin D and Autoimmune Disease: A Systematic Review of the Literature (2017 Conference) (LDN, low dose naltrexone)
1/7 of people are deficient in Vitamin D, which increases risk of many diseases including autoimmune diseases. Six studies presented showing benefit of Vitamin D in rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s, myasthenia gravis, autoimmune thyroid disease, optic neuritis, and multiple sclerosis. However, excessively high Vitamin D had adverse effects. Vitamin D helps prevent unnecessary treatment, puts focus on helpful treatment. But more studies are needed.
