Peter - England: Multiple Sclerosis (MS) (LDN, low dose naltrexone) from LDN Research Trust on Vimeo.

Peter from England takes Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) for multiple sclerosis (MS), where he was diagnosed in September 2009, 63 years old at the time. Peter was working until 2010, he started experiencing foot drop, and stumblings began to start.

After many medications, Peter also began noticing numbness in the face, but this did not last long. Fatigue was also a huge problem for Peter, as well as having bowel problems. Peter rated his quality of life a 5 at this period of time, as there were many things he could not do.

After a year of thinking about it, Peter decided to try LDN after finding like minded people on the internet with the same problems. Although, Peter did find it hard to find a prescription for the Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) medication on the NHS. But then found a private prescription, which he then found easier.

He quotes that it's “made a world of difference to my living standard. So, um, I'm quite prepared to carry on with it.”

Peter recommends people to try Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN), his quality of life has improved to an 8, and he has improved tremendously. His foot drop has gone, although he does still have slight numbness in his left hand.

Her condition deteriorated, her memory became affected and her life lost quality.  Peggy had read about Low Dose Naltrexone in an MS magazine and got her LDN on private prescription.  Improvements were noted in bladder control after four months of taking it and Peggy no longer has to get up through the night to visit the bathroom.

Peggy is able to walk further than before on this medication and has a better quality of life due to being able to be more active in the social aspects.

Pauline - England: Multiple Sclerosis (MS) (LDN, low dose naltrexone) from LDN Research Trust on Vimeo.

Pauline from England takes Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) for her diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). She was diagnosed in 1992 at the age of 43.

Before her diagnosis, Pauline was an active person, but she had optic neuritis twice in her right side where she started to become paralyzed. At first, Pauline’s GP said her problems could be related to a stroke.

Pauline found out about Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) through a magazine, and managed to receive a prescription in 2006. Thankfully, she managed to receive this from a new GP after her old one refused.

Now, she has been taking it for four and  a half years. Pauline has found her progression slower than she did before LDN, but everyone reacts differently.

Pauline’s introductory side effects included pain in her legs so they refreshed her dosage to very little. Ater this, she had no pain.

Pauline will continue taking LDN, and she now gets her prescription from a Neurologist. She recommends people to try the medication, to give it a try and it may do a lot of good. She now thinks more positively and feels better about her diagnosis and being open with it, after LDN.

Paulette's Daughter - US: Crohn's Disease (LDN, low dose naltrexone) from LDN Research Trust on Vimeo.

Paulette talks about her daughter’s struggle with Crohn’s Disease. Sarah was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease at the age of 9 and she had pain, anaemia and generally felt very unwell.  Paulette took Sarah to many doctors and was concerned with the number of medications that Sarah had to take, none of which seemed to have any lasting effects. Being a concerned parent Paulette started to do her own research and came across articles about Low Dose Naltrexone and, although sceptical, decided to find a doctor who would prescribe it.

Sarah’s first doses in capsule form did not work for her but they persevered for a month while continuing to research. Paulette read about Low Dose Naltrexone in a transdermal cream and had her doctor prescribe that instead of the capsules. Remarkably within a couple of days Sarah had amazing improvement, she noticed her pain had gone away, she had normal bowel movements and she looked a lot better. Paulette calls it a miracle and there are no side effects at all for Sarah.

Paula - England: Breast Cancer (LDN, low dose naltrexone) from LDN Research Trust on Vimeo.

Paula from England takes Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) for breast cancer.

She was diagnosed in 2010 after finding a lump on her breast; Paula’s GP suggested either having a lumpectomy or mastectomy. Her Doctor stated that she has the “best kind of cancer”, that being grade 1, slow growing prognosis. After more tests and reconstructions, Paula was then told she had stage 3 and then it was stage 4.

Paula researched and found a Facebook group that advocated LDN and other natural remedies and Paula managed to get a prescription for Low Dose Naltrexone. She is optimistic that things are slowing down.
