Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) and Benzodiazepines (Benzos)

LDN and Benzodiazepine Taper. I have not used LDN for benzodiazepine weaning. The MOA does not seem at first glance to be effective. An older study published in 1998 using higher dose Naltrexone (NTX) for benzo intoxication did not yield good results. There may be other mechanisms at play here not overtly known but I cannot say I would use LDN to wean anyone off of benzos alone. As an adjunct to mood disorders, it may be helpful as there have been successful clinical case reports of LDN for MDD (major depressive disorder)
