Melatonin Test
The patient has been on melatonin. Do they need an increase in dose?
They may they may need an increase to 10 or 20 milligrams. It is interesting, when you actually do a melatonin test, that it doesn't come back high, what happens is the body has figured out that it's being used as an immune modulator, and the melatonin level will actually be normal, even if they're on 20 milligrams. As I mentioned, some people are on 50 milligrams. I have not tried 50 milligrams, but certainly at 20 milligrams I’ve not seen anybody so far with an elevated melatonin.
