Research suggest that the drug naltrexone can be used for the treatment of depression. A double-blind randomized study was created and found that low doses of naltrexone reduced depression in 12 subjects who did not find relief with dopamine-enhancing antidepressants. The main finding of the study concluded that if you are a patient who has not found relief of depression with the use of antidepressants with dopaminergic mechanism of action, low-dose naltrexone should be considered.
