Download Dr. Chopra's Pain Presentation

In this presentation, Dr. Pradeep Chopra discusses what happens in chronic pain.  He presents three different kinds of pain that he sees in his patients; structural pain, nerve pain and mixed pain which is the most common pain experienced.

Dr. Chopra shares three patient case studies and his treatment strategies for these kinds of patients.  Once his patients are in a position to taper off opioids he then introduces Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN). Improvements within the first month for patient one were less fatigued, had better cognition and increased mobility. Patient two is a young girl with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). The girls condition worsened over years under standard care until eventually she found Dr. Chopra who had a better understanding of her condition. He treated her with Low Dose Ketamine and Low Dose Naltrexone.  She had a significant response to IV Low Dose Ketamine but was able to come off that and stay on LDN with significant improvement of pain and function. Six months later she was able to start physiotherapy.

Another patient with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) who had tried and failed every medicine known to mankind. This patient was given Proprioception exercises, Muscle strengthening (aerobic) exercises, bracing for knee joint and Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN). Within two weeks she was able to walk fifteen meters, at 4 weeks she was able to walk up a flight of stairs without stopping, at 12 weeks there was significant decrease in pain, she was no longer taking any medications for pain.
