PTSD and other mental health treatment with opioid antagonist... - Galyn Forster, MS, LPC (2021 Conference) (LDN, low dose naltrexone)
Reducing psychological pathology and stress is important for improving outcomes when treating mental health conditions with comorbid somatic illness. In this presentation, Galyn discusses mental health treatment comorbid with somatic medical disorders, and the use of low dose naltrexone treatment. Psychosocial interventions are reliably associated with enhanced immune system function, and may therefore represent a viable strategy for improving immune related health. Improved mental health function is a potential component of LDN synergistic health imbuing influence on biochemical psychosocial feedback loops at both micro and macro levels of function, and as such should be intentionally targeted by clinicians and researchers. Included are case examples discussing dosing for PTSD and mental health issues, and the challenges associated with treating conditions comorbid with psychiatric conditions.
