Reclaim the Lives of Lupus Patients, A Unique Treatment Approach - Deanna Windham, DO (2021 Conference) (LDN, low dose naltrexone)
Lupus is a complicated epigenetic process of cellular interactions that happen in genetically-susceptible people who are exposed to random and unknown environmental factors that create the conditions of lupus, or auto other autoimmune diseases. She discusses four mechanisms of action in regards to lupus and the cellular abnormalities, and recommended treatments. LDN has a positive impact, decreasing the risk of epigenetic changes as it decreases the oxidative damage. It adjusts the inflammatory cascade, and it's known to have a positive impact on gene regulation, the microbiome, and the frequency and severity of infections. Case studies are presented.
