Will neurological long Covid develop into something else?
Are you suggesting that if we have neurological long Covid symptoms, we are likely to develop Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, or some such? Is there anything that can be done to help with this? Will LDN help?
Well, LDN certainly will not hurt. I think it's something to add to the regimen to help prevent that from happening. But there was a paper published, it was a study of a large cohort of people over, I want to say, two blocks of time looking at aging and how those with the Covid-19 infection aged about ten years, using certain markers and metrics. So it was an average of about a ten year aging process that happened in individuals.
A consequence of aging is some forms of dementia. So I think that they're onto something. In my discussions with Dr. Counts and Dr. Gazda, both neurologists, they both seem to think that a lot of the neuroinflammation, what we call neuro P.A.S.C. post-acute sequelae COVID neuro N-U-R-O, in other words, neuro-covid, and I've lectured on that specific thing a number of times, is a big, bad problem that we're going to face for a long time. We're talking decades of seeing that as a result of this pandemic.
