Did you miss any Shows in July?
If so...
Charis was bitten by a tick at 12 and got Lyme Disease. Countless antibiotics were tried to no avail. She also had Hashimoto’s and thyroiditis and had great results after learning of, and taking, Low Dose Naltrexone. Charis also had fertility problems until taking LDN. She is thankful for her much-improved quality of life.
Barbara began taking LDN in November of 2015. She titrations up to 4mg and had no side effects as her serious symptoms of Graves’ disease, hypothyroidism, and 3 types of psoriasis were greatly reduced. She is now free of fatigue, pain, and the need for opioids.
With seemingly no medical answer for her scleroderma, Julia turned to google and learned about Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN). Within a month her symptoms were arrested and her quality of life went from a 4 to a 9/10. She is thankful to be able to return to working steadily without pain and fatigue.
Compounding pharmacist Sheri Garvin has 30 years experience and shares valuable information on Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN). She councils her patients on all health aspects, encouraging them to keep a symptoms diary in order to assure treatments are appropriate. She also explains how her business is dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. Many customers are taking vitamins and supplements to bolster their immune systems.
Dr. Tara Thompson joined Innovation Compounding and specializes in women’s health. They are licensed to provide prescriptions to 47 states, and Low Dose Naltrexone is one of many compounded drugs they supply. They counsel their patients on dosing of LDN and other medications. She describes a few case studies of success stories.
Pamela Wartian Smith, M.D., MPH, MS spent her first twenty years of practice as an emergency room physician with the Detroit Medical Center and then 24-years as an Anti-Aging/Functional Medicine specialist.  She is a diplomat of the Board of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Physicians and is an internationally known speaker and author on the subject of Metabolic, Anti-Aging and Personalized Medicine. She also holds a Master’s in Public Health Degree along with a Master’s Degree in Metabolic and Nutritional Medicine. She has been featured on CNN, PBS, and many other television networks, has been interviewed in numerous consumer magazines, and has hosted two of her own radio shows. Dr. Smith was  one of the featured physicians on the PBS series “The Embrace of Aging” as well as the on-line medical series “Awakening from Alzheimer’s” and “Regain Your Brain”. Dr. Pamela Smith is currently the Director of the Center for Personalized Medicine and the founder of The Fellowship in Anti-Aging, Regenerative, and Functional Medicine.

Is alcohol all bad? How lowering the alcohol in your wine could be good for you.

Did you know?

Research tells us: in nearly every region of the world where people live the longest and healthiest lives - like Ikiria, Greece and Sardinia, Italy - daily wine consumption is a cultural staple.

Yet, alcohol is a harmful toxin. In high quantities, it can impact your sleep, affect your judgement, and disrupt your gut.  And it’s often abused. Since 2005, alcohol consumption is up 17%, used to calm nerves and combat anxiety by most of the western world. And the industry is responding. Take wine, for example. Since the early 90s, wine alcohol levels have steadily increased. In 1992, the average was 12.7%. In 2009, it jumped to 13.8%. Today, you will often see levels at 15% or higher.

High alcohol is good business. It’s addictive, it causes you to drink more, and higher alcohol produces the big bold wines preferred by the typical American drinker.

So, how can you enjoy the benefits of wine without suffering the drawbacks of alcohol?
It turns out, it’s all about how much alcohol you consume.
Benefits of Lower Alcohol
Wine can actually be beneficial when the alcohol is present in lower quantities. Here are 3 benefits of lower alcohol:
Increase social connection. Alcohol releases endorphins, the same “feel good” chemicals you release when you laugh or exercise. Endorphins are the heart of human bonding and an important part of social interaction.
Decrease anxiety. Research shows moderate drinking - like a glass of wine - can help lower stress responses by decreasing blood pressure and increasing blood flow.
Improve focus and creativity. The right amount of alcohol can provide mental focus, creativity, and open mindedness. This occurs from “depatterning,” where your brain chemicals are rearranged to drop unhelpful habits in favor of new ones.
Fun fact: it’s not just humans; it works for animals, too. Researchers found animals learn new habits when introduced to psychoactive substances (bees, for example, drink fermented sap and nectar).
Benefits of Wine
Wine has added benefits that extend beyond the alcohol content. Researchers continues to discover new ways wine could be good for us:
Brain health. Moderate drinking has been shown to reduce risk of dementia and stroke, while increasing the brain’s ability to clear waste and fight inflammation.
Gut health. Wine can be rich in healthy probiotic bacteria, some of which help your intestines fight pathogens like E. Coli. Wine can also be rich in antioxidants and polyphenols.
Heart health. Recently, science shows low to moderate wine consumption may reduce risk of coronary heart disease and enhance insulin response.
Low Alcohol Wine
After all this, it seems the best way to enjoy the benefits of alcohol without suffering the consequences is low alcohol wine.

As the world’s premier source for low alcohol wines, Dry Farm Wines only carries wines that meet their list of strict standards:
